Ava has gracefully entered her second year of life and with that comes it's own struggles. She is a strong child in mind and body. While dealing with this she has also had her world turned upside down by having to share her mom and dad with a new baby sister. She loves her sister so much and just wants to kiss her all day long. She has also been so understanding and patient with her sister and I for the time and attention it takes to breastfeed. She adorably and without hesitation lifts her shirt for all her dolls and babies to offer them her milk and even burps them to keep them happy. As I learn to handle both a 2 yr old and a 2 month old at home all day long I am learning what it takes to have a happy household. One of the struggles of getting a 2 year old to eat her food is to name everything after her favorite characters. I have to give all the props to my adorable and ingenious husband for this. So for the past few days we have had Dora Quiche, BJ (from Barney) rice, and Baby Bop beans. It has been so successful and become such a habit that we even use it for things she needs no coaxing for...like purple Barney popsicles.
Also I have found that it is a tragic myth that a happy wife/mother makes a happy home. It is without a doubt that a happy 2 year old makes a happy home! So tonight after dinner I put on my p-p-p-p-poker face and danced in the living room with my baby. And everyone is happy. :)
